The Vampire Handbook, by P.J. Jones. Author interview, book giveaway!

Warning: Adult humor
So, after a painstakingly long soul-searching (at least five minutes) and after grappling with the possible fate of your immortal soul (who cares if you’re not going to die, anyway), you’ve decided to become a vampire.

Congratulations!

But before beginning that dark and shadowed journey into a life of eternal damnation, every vampire is required to read THE VAMPIRE HANDBOOK, a short step-by-step guide to becoming a vampire and then adjusting to the bloodsucking lifestyle.

Some of the helpful tips in this handbook include: Rules for Living an Environmentally Friendly and Urbane, Undead Lifestyle, Dietary Restrictions for Vampires, Engaging in Battles with Other Immortals, Rules for Fitting into Society and not Scaring off Potential Meals and much more... In addition to THE VAMPIRE HANDBOOK, you will also get THE WERE/SHAPE-SHIFTER HANDBOOK and THE ZOMBIE HANDBOOK as well as a few sample chapters from PJ Jones's sparkly vampire parody, ROMANCE NOVEL.
My Review:

This book was hilarious! P.J. Jones has packed a lot of crucial information into this handbook! It is in MY opinion that EVERY mortal should read The Vampire Handbook if they are going to seriously consider becoming a vampire, a were-changing thing or a zombie ;) There is vital information to be taken into account before taking that final leap into this lifestyle. Things that I am sure, we are ALL unaware of.

P.J. Jones's sharp and witty sense of humor had me laughing out loud several times. My husband *who usually doesn't even bother to ask what I'm reading* kept wanting to know what in the world I was laughing at ;) The Vampire Handbook is a quick but entertaining guide into the immortal life. A MUST read for those who just want to sit down and have a few good laughs. You're sure to put this book away with a smile on your face ;)

Author Interview

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I love to write, and more importantly, I love to make people laugh. I have degrees in English and journalism. I used to be anal about grammar, but I’m getting over it.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I started my first magazine subscription when I was ten. It was called The Dirty Toilet Water Book. I had one subscriber, my best friend, who paid a quarter per issue. I’ve been writing ever since.

What is the toughest criticism you have received as an author?
When I wrote my first book about ten years ago, I thought it was a masterpiece. After bringing it to a critique group with many published authors, I discovered that I had A LOT to learn about novel writing. Having a degree in English does not mean you know how to write a novel.
How did you come up with such a hilarious idea for as book such as The Vampire Handbook?

The Vampire Handbook is an offshoot of my parody, Romance Novel, as well as my other paranormal parodies. I came up with Romance Novel after reading so many romances that needed fine tuning, especially a certain sparkly vampire romance that we all love to hate and hate to love.
What is your favorite piece of advice that you hope everybody takes away from this book?
Uhhhh…don’t egg my house after reading it.

Was there anything particularly challenging about writing this book?
My challenge was that I didn’t sleep much until the book was finished. I love writing parody and when I get a few funny ideas, I can’t seem to stop writing until the story is finished.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

I am working on Attack of the Fairytale Zombies, about a dragon slayer, Barth, and his best friend, Drag, a cross-dressing dragon, who have to save Fairytale Kingdom from a zombie curse.

Just for fun! ;)

What is the next book in your to be read pile?

I have got so many books on my Kindle right now. It honestly depends on my mood.

Fuzzy socks or Tube socks?

Fuzzy socks make my feet sweat, so I guess I’ll go with tube socks.

Milk chocolate or dark chocolate?

Extra DARK!
Tea or coffee?

Tea, ‘cause I’m a pussy.
Favorite drink?

Water, ‘cause I’m boring.

Favorite rainy day activity?

Writing or reading.

I would like to thank P.J. Jones for joining us here on WereVampsRomance today! It's been so much fun! I hope you'll be back again soon!

I loves me some PJ. And I have a crush on Flabio from Romance Novel. Just had to put that out there.

Hope you sell a million, babe!

***Yes, this was a paid endorsement. I get to make squirrel stew for Flabio, feed him beer cake and shave his back.
