And now she has to start over in Wolf Springs, a tiny village in the Ozark Mountains. Like any small town, Wolf Springs has secrets. But the secrets hidden here are more sinister than Katelyn could ever imagine. It’s a town with a history that reaches back centuries, spans continents, and conceals terrifying truths. And Katelyn McBride is about to change everything.

My Rating:
A great start to a great new series. The pace was fast and the plot had me engulfed in mystery and twists. The characters were well developed with enough left out to leave me wanting find out more. The authors really seemed to tap into the teenage world. Dealing with a death of a parent, moving, new school and friends. The writing style was fabulous. This would be a great book for any young adult who likes the paranormal genre.
My Rating 5 stars!
Author Guest Post
Hi, Were People! We are so excited to be here. Thanks for having us during the howlidays!
We’ve been doing a lot interviews and guest posts to celebrate the release of UNLEASHED, and we decided to take some of the answers to the most commonly asked questions and make a post for you. We’ve had a lot of fun on our Blog Tour, and it’s wonderful to be nearing the end in the company of people who love vampires and were’s as much as we do. So thank you for having us.
UNLEASHED is our ninth book together, and it’s the first book in our Wolf Springs Chronicles trilogy. Wolf Springs Chronicles is our third YA series.
Despite knowing each other for over a decade, we hadn’t realized that we’re both werewolf fans. We found out while we were writing our Crusade series. In Crusade, a series of resistance fighters battle the vampires, who have declared war on the human race—and won. Among those fighters are a White Witch, a vampire, and a werewolf. And we just loved our werewolf. His name is Holgar Vibbard, and he’s from Denmark.
That led us to discussing werewolves in general, and then we realized that together we know a ton of werewolf myths and legends. So we took a short break from other work to put together the proposal for Wolf Springs.
Nancy was in Maine and Debbie was in Florida when we got the call from our agent that we had sold it.
The way we wrote UNLEASHED: we created a sort of overview outline for our sales pitch, and then once we had sold the trilogy, we broke the first novel down into a chapter-by-chapter outline. Debbie wrote the first chapter, then handed it off to Nancy, who edited it, wrote chapter two, and passed it back to her. We have an unbreakable rule we call “Write It Forward.” That means that whatever the other guy has just sent to us is the only manuscript we have. The old draft is pffft, gone forever. So if we don’t like something the other partner wrote, we can only change it to something new. This keeps us in forward motion.
When we turned in UNLEASHED, we had written nearly 100 pages too many. We were able to cut the story down, and we’ve used many of those pages in the next volume in the series, HOT BLOODED, and the third book as well. HOT BLOODED was turned in yesterday, December 15th, and we’re very proud of it.
One of the reasons we’re attracted to werewolves is because we’re engrossed with witches and moon lore. We love some of the terms people use for werewolves—“moon-kissed” and “moon-born.” We revere the majesty of the Children of the Night, and we’re intrigued by the fact that nearly every culture on the planet has stories about animal shapeshifters of one sort or another. UNLEASHED tells the story of a pack of shifters in crisis, in a town burdened with dark secrets. We used Shakespeare’s play, KING LEAR, as our basic framework, but you don’t have to know anything about the play before you read UNLEASHED.
Thanks again for having us on the blog.
Howling with Joy,
Debbie and Nancy

This looks really good. I've wondered when authors co-write if you don't agree on something in the book how do you resolve the problem?
Thanks.
