J.L. Weil - White Raven - Book Review

White Raven (Raven #1)
by J.L. Weil

It only took one heartbeat to change my life—one chilling phone call in the middle of the night.

And then, as if my life didn’t already suck, my dad sends my brother and me to some idyllic island for the summer to live with a grandma we never met. WTH. Naturally, I rebel. In the end, I find myself shipped off to Raven Hallow…and bored to tears.

Until I get an eyeful of the mind-bendingly gorgeous Zane Hunter. The dark-hair cutie makes my pulse go bonkers, and I think, maybe this might not be so bad after all. Six feet of swoon inducing looks, with a hint of Celtic charm in his voice, he was the type of guy that left a string of broken hearts in his wake. And I had all the heartbreak I could handle.

Yet, there is something uncanny, almost supernatural about Zane, and it’s not just his devastating smirk. No matter how much distance I put between us, Raven Hallow isn’t big enough, and the sparking tension between is undeniable. Of course, the one person I want to avoid becomes my salvation.

My past comes back to terrorize me. Someone wants me dead, and the closer I get to the truth, the more I realize my whole life is a lie. I am no longer sure what is more frightening—the attempts on my life or the guy whose heart and soul are synchronized with mine.

NYT Best Selling Author Debbie Viguié - Author Interview and Review!!

Photobucket
I am happy to say today we have with us, NYT Best Selling Author Debbie Viguié!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m happily married to the man of my dreams. I love animals and have a black cat named Schrodinger. I love traveling, visiting theme parks, and fine dining. It’s my aspiration to someday build my own theme park based on the one I created for my Sweet Seasons series. (Check out The Summer of Cotton Candy for a peak at it!) I love writing and acting and spent serious time trying to decide which to pursue. I ultimately went with the writing though I still love to act in community theater. I’ve been described by a reporter as a “pink goth”, a title I’ve proudly claimed. I’m light and bubbly and optimistic while yet enjoying the dark and the macabre. Both come across in my writing. I love movies and see as many of them as I can. When I write I often picture my books as movies. I write both secular novels and Christian novels. I enjoy both.

This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 5) by Jeaniene Frost

This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 5)
by Jeaniene Frost
384 Pages

Not a book to read during quiet time. This book had a ton of witty dialogue that will leave you laughing out loud. Vlad as always has his clever remarks and skillfully delivered. Don’t forget the moments that pull at your emotional heart strings, as well as, you tear ducts. Although it seems a little slow in some spots, over all it was a blast to read. The storyline was interesting, character progression was good, and the dialogue was great. You can expect elements that are a little new to this book that was not in the previous books. I would have like to see Ian with more lines in the book. The one he did say was pretty intense. Another thing, it was a little over worked was the declaring of cat and bones love for each other. While its great to hear the main characters love each other I think it should be done in moderation. The realistic sex scenes can have you blushing. In the end you’ll be left wondering what happens next. What happened with a certain persons new form? Is there a New enemy to be added to the mix?? Can’t wait to get some more of Vlad’s Hotness.

My Rating: FIVE STARS!!!

The Book Description:
Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they've triumphed over the latest battle, Cat's new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally"—the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.
