The Noru: Blue Rose (Volume 1)

The last thing I see before I close my eyes are his silver wings coming toward me. He lifts me up and takes me in his arms. While demons hurl fireballs at us from every direction, I study his face. I realize he doesn’t want me to live; he needs me to.
It’s as if his whole existence depends on it…

But locating the person behind the terror will require some metaphysical help from Cady’s loyal bar patrons as well as her potent new Moonchild powers—and she’d better figure it out before the final victim disappears and her own darkest secret becomes her biggest enemy.

Suzanne Johnson - Royal Street - Giveaway, Character Guest Post, And Review
Royal Street (Sentinels of New Orleans #1)
by Suzanne Johnson
by Suzanne Johnson
As the junior wizard sentinel for New Orleans, Drusilla Jaco’s job involves a lot more potion-mixing and pixie-retrieval than sniffing out supernatural bad guys like rogue vampires and lethal were-creatures. DJ's boss and mentor, Gerald St. Simon, is the wizard tasked with protecting the city from anyone or anything that might slip over from the preternatural beyond.
Then Hurricane Katrina hammers New Orleans’ fragile levees, unleashing more than just dangerous flood waters.
While winds howled and Lake Pontchartrain surged, the borders between the modern city and the Otherworld crumbled. Now, the undead and the restless are roaming the Big Easy, and a serial killer with ties to voodoo is murdering the soldiers sent to help the city recover.
To make it worse, Gerry has gone missing, the wizards’ Elders have assigned a grenade-toting assassin as DJ’s new partner, and undead pirate Jean Lafitte wants to make her walk his plank. The search for Gerry and for the serial killer turns personal when DJ learns the hard way that loyalty requires sacrifice, allies come from the unlikeliest places, and duty mixed with love creates one bitter gumbo.

RELEASES: February 1st 2012
Devastated by the loss of his mother, Chase is trying to balance the life he’s been left with, a family he’s still getting to know, and power he never thought he’d have. He doesn’t understand why the Goddess has named him the Protector and granted him two gifts: the Mark, a tattoo that now covers his back, and the ring. But between getting interrogated by the Circle and psychic attacks from Riley, the Mark is the least of his concern. There’s a demon inside Rayna that’s fighting to be released, and it’s not her inner witch. It’s something else–a monster threatening to tear her apart.
As Chase struggles to control his magic, his enemies are closing in. Everyone has staked a claim on his ring, and destroying it may be his only chance to stop Riley. But Chase must decide if stopping him is worth risking the lives of everyone he cares about, or if protecting the ring will be enough to save his world.

3 book Review!!! M. Edward McNally - Review, Guest Post, And Giveaway!
3 BOOK REVIEW
by M. Edward McNally
The Trade Houses of the Miilark Islands control the shipping lanes linking four diverse continents across the blue vastness of the Interminable Ocean. The Houses are represented abroad by the Guilders; men and women skilled in business and burglary, salesmanship and swordplay, merchandising and musketry. Tilda Lanai has trained for years to take her place among them, but now the House she is to serve is imperiled by the sudden death of the House Lord. Scenting blood in the water, rival Houses are beginning to circle. The desperate search for an exiled heir takes Tilda across a war-torn continent and to the gates of the Sable City, where centuries ago dark magic almost destroyed the world. Along with a sinister sorceress, a broken-hearted samurai, and a miscreant mercenary long on charm but lousy with a crossbow, Tilda must brave the demon-infested ruins to find the heir who may yet save her House.
by M. Edward McNally
The Second Book of the Norothian Cycle, and the sequel to "The Sable City."
After a narrow escape from the Sable City, Tilda and company have arrived in Souterm, where the Duchess Claudja is able to contact the Emperor and announce that her home realm of Chengdea has accepted the Code. While such an acceptance may stave-off invasion by Ayzantine forces, King Hughes of Daul will not take the betrayal well, and a new war threatens to erupt between the Empire and the River Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Nesha-tari learns that she must perform additional tasks for her Blue Dragon Master before she will be allowed to return home. Together with others in the Dragon's service, the sorceress must enter the murderous world of Ayzant politics, where Crown, Church, and Cult vie for power.
by M. Edward McNally
With the Trade House disbanded during John's absence and his Law Sister, Rhianne, reduced to poverty, the last of the Deskatas have no choice but to take up the ancient Island right of the blood vendetta, and turn to piracy on the high seas. The people of Miilark say that the Wind governs all lives, and the course upon which John and Rhianne are blown will bring them into conflict with worse things than enemy Houses. But with a little luck, John will cross paths with some old friends as well.
The Norothian Cycle. Muskets, Magic, and Matilda Lanai.

Roxanne “Roxy” Banfield refuses to be like her mother, a fertility witch who uses sex as nothing more than a magical weapon. Roxy rejects that life and is determined to become mortal to pursue her dream of real love and a family. All she has to do is avoid meeting the one man whose sensuality can release her powers. Wing Slayer Hunter Kieran “Key” DeMicca channels the dark violence that lives inside him into a popular comic book series about an ancient dragon named Dyfyr, but only Key knows that Dyfyr is real. Lately he finds himself drawing images of a young woman in peril, and assumes that she’s just a product of his imagination—until he meets Roxy. Struck by her beauty and her resemblance to his sketches, he feels compelled to protect her. As steamy magic, lethal danger, and timeless love collide, Roxy must become what she swore she would never be—and awake a part of Key that will threaten to destroy them both.

Tempest's Legacy (Jane True #3) by Nicole Peeler
Tempest's Legacy (Jane True #3) by Nicole Peeler Mass Market Paperback, 344 pages
Over all it was a good read! The 1st few chapters were a little hard to get into. Story line was well paced and it was loads of fun to read. The plot nicely twist a few times right where you wouldn’t see it coming. It will get your emotions going. The Sexual Tension did get a lit frustrating. I think we would all like to see a little more romantic relationship development for Jane. I was a little “eww” on the gore however. The settings were nicely developed. Surprise ending was a great touch. This book you will not want to put down once you start reading it. Very Entertaining. Can not wait for the next book!
Warning of Sexual Content: Explicit sex, threats of rape, descriptions of rape.
My Rating: 4 Stars!

Description:
Jane True has become proficient in basic magics, confident in herself and her abilities, and happily rooted in Rockabill. Her life is still divided between her supernatural brethren and her human friends and family, but it’s a division she maintains with very little trouble.
Everything changes, however, when Anyan brings Jane news that will force her to confront her dichotomized existence – supernatural females are being murdered, or have simply disappeared.
Jane and Anyan must embark on a desperate search to find out who is abducting these women, and how Jane can be protected from them. Aiding them is Jane’s former flame, Ryu. But can his stated motivations be trusted? And who are the mysterious figures dogging Jane’s and Anyan’s footsteps if not minions of Jarl?
Eventually, the trio stumble upon a secret so huge that it threatens to disrupt the tenuous traditions keeping humanity safe from the supernatural community that has, up until now, been content to lurk in the shadows.
Will they uncover the truth in time to save Jane’s friends? And just how far will Jarl go to protect his secrets?

Green Eyed Demon (Sabina Kane #3)
by Jaye Wells
by Jaye Wells
Let’s start with a few basics. This book is part of a series that should not be read out of order or as a stand-alone. The plot does have a very climatic ending. You also have a few previous characters that carry over. Now for some good points. It was a quick paced loaded with action and suspense. Some pervious unanswered questions will be answered, and then you’ll find yourself scratching your head at some new questions. The ending was fabulous. It will leave you trying to catch your breathe. Another thing was that the main heroine character Shows growth and is developing in a new way. She has be come more open and is not as cold as she was in the pervious books. It’s better then book #2. Now the bad. It seemed a little mechanical. Overall a decent read!
My Rating: 4 STARS!

Lust (The Sins and The Virtues #1) by Charlotte Featherstone
Lust (The Sins and The Virtues #1)
by Charlotte Featherstone
Paperback, 368 pages
This book was hot and steamy! Intriguing from the start and well written. The beginning plot is nicely delivered. By page 20 you'll be completely consumed in what is unfolding. I especially liked the few Irish/Scottish dialect thrown in. the description of the book and series itself is quite fascinating. Two faery courts, the Seelie and Unseelie. questions the goodness inside of the Seelie. readers will soon find themselves questioning whether the Seelie is truly the bad guy and the Unseelie, the good. it's not your typical Paranormal Romance and may not be everyone's cup of tea. The book is primarily concerned with desires, internal struggles, and inner-character. One can expect a lot of description and mental-musing. The thrills and chills typically derived from high-octane action stories simply isn't here for the most part. It doesn't provide a lot of sex in this book but shares quite a lot sensuality. There was one sexual scene that contained a action & a climax and it was great. the whole concept of the Seven Sins and Seven Virtues...Amazing, to say the very least. The bad and the good fey. The pure ones and the tainted ones. Caught in the middle are the virtues and good and bad fey are doing everything in order to get them. What we end up with is a cast of interesting characters running in and out of each other's lives with dangerous plot twist, secrets and agendas. But overall a great read, this is a new author to me and I am looking forward to Rinion’s, Vanity, novel next in the series.
My Rating: 3 Stars!

The righteous Fae of the Seelie Court cherish an ancient quarrel with their Dark counterparts: a curse born of anger and deceit. The Unseelie Court will perish unless one of its princes can win a woman's love—honestly, without coercion…and love her wholly in return.
To halt the slow demise of his people, Prince Thane—the embodiment of Lust—infiltrates the Georgian court to seduce his mortal inverse. Noblewoman Chastity Lennox is purity incarnate—a sensual prize well worth winning. But Thane's carnal quest proves more challenging than he ever dreamed.
No other has ever been able—or willing—to resist his erotic charms. Chastity's resolve is maddening…and intriguing. It makes him want her all the more. But how best to seduce one who truly seems above temptation? Discover her greatest weakness and become the intoxicating essence of her deepest, most forbidden desires….
